The Wiz

The Wiz is an extraordinary way of showing growing family bonds and independence. This 1980S film brings laughter and family together. It captures the most of the inspirational sayings in song. Dorothy and all the companions show their self determination while going to Oz. Its a lifting movie that continue to work wonders to this day.
“Your 24 years old and still haven’t been south of 125th street”. This quote says that Dorothy needs to get self-determination. Also. That she needs to branch out on her own and get more freedom. Her staying at home is because of fear of loosing herself and who she’s know for being. She likes being nurture and not a independent being.

“Follow the yellow brick road”. This saying shows how Dorothy should strive for her own and get away. Also, it shows how Dorothy is growing as a person (maturing). It shows her search for her inner self and to find a new. She finds many wonders and her path of life.

“You are a lion”. Dorothy saying this brings up her being a nurturer. Vice Versa as Aunt Em nurtured her to become the well respected person she is now. She sought to teach her to move on her own and have no obstacles. In doing this Dorothy path to get home from Oz shows her struggle with fear. By her returning home shows she over came it.
“Lion needing courage, the tin man needing a heart, and the scarecrow needing a brain”. This all intertwine with one another all of these being what Dorothy lacks a brain, courage, and heart. The heart and courage she needs to step up on her own and move forward. She doesn’t have to rely on people for her own happiness and whole self-being.
